Configuring your Firewall Software

If you're using a computer on a network managed by your workplace or university, your organisation's firewall may block TalkType from working correctly.

What's a firewall?

A firewall is a network security process that monitors and filters incoming and outgoing network traffic. It can restrict access to certain domains.

Which domains do I need to allow?

TalkType needs to connect to some domains to work properly. These domains are:

transcriber-talktype.carescribe.io

api.talk-type.com

connect.carescribe.io

api.captioned.carescribe.io

carescribe.io

caption-ed.com

talk-type.com

dashboard.talk-type.com

storage.googleapis.com - Not applicable if downloaded by an MSI file. 

Check with your organisation's IT team that these domains have been whitelisted for full access.

Also, ensure that TalkType has been whitelisted for your antivirus program.
