Using VoiceOver with TalkType 

If you use VoiceOver alongside TalkType,  you may notice that VoiceOver reads out new text as it's added to the editor. This can create a feedback loop if your microphone picks up VoiceOver's speech output while dictation is active.

To avoid this, follow the steps below.

Recommended Setup

Wear headphones before you begin. This prevents your microphone from picking up any audio played through your speakers.
  1. Wear headphones = This stops VoiceOver's speech from being picked up by the microphone during dictation.
  2. Navigate VoiceOver to the dictation button =Use your usual VoiceOver navigation gestures or keyboard commands to move focus to the dictation button.
  3. Activate the dictation button using VoiceOver = Select or click the button to turn dictation on.
  4. Start dictating =Speak your text as normal.
